Does it get any better?

This week has been a tough one. Okay, so this month has been a tough one for me. What is the deal? It seems as though it all falls at the same time. I have been getting so frustrated, I snap at the kids, and sometimes I wonder if I need to go back to work... It has been that kind of month.
As many of you know, JS has developmental delays. I think the reality of his situation just hit me. I am so grateful that he is healthy and happy. At the same time, I so badly want him to be like all the other kids his age. I so badly want him to be able to enjoy the circus without trembling in absolute terror. I want to be able to go "Walk With the Dinosaurs, the Dinosaur museum, the fire station for field trips, and know that he will be okay. Know that he won't be scared, that he will understand that he isn't going to get hurt. More than anything, I want him to enjoy the many things there are to enjoy at his age. I want more than anything to know that I can send him to Kindergarten in August and he is going to do FABULOUS. I want to know that he will feel comfortable being around lots of kids... Don't get me wrong, I know that things could be so much worse, but I worry for his sake. I love that little kid more than anything, I just want him to be happy.
In my case, it seems as though things all happen at the same time. I wonder if it hast to do with the crappy weather... Ugh! I want some clear skies and sunshine.

Dear Hoopty,

You have been a part of our family for nearly nine years... We have loved having you and look forward to several years of using you day in and day out!
You continue to show immense endurance in your not so new car age (12 years to be exact). Thank you for always keeping us safe! Thank you for always starting up... (I will overlook the fact that you struggle a bit if Turtle has run your gas to fumes) Thank you for still looking decent, not running through tires like crazy, getting good gas mileage, and for still having functioning everything. A big high five to you for driving in the snow like a pro, and even handling Baccus Hwy in the snow drifts, (it's scary yes, but you still do it!) You have no idea how much that means to us!
JS and JA are worried about you. You see, I told them tonight that Daddy (turtle to you) would need to work on you. Seems you have a bit of a grinding issue. You made Turtle a little nervous on the commute to and from work yesterday and today, so he decided to let you take a "nap." JS and JA aren't really savvy to this, since you have always been ready and willing to GO GO GO!
At first we thought, Dang it, hopefully this isn't too big of a deal, but as always, you pulled through, and proved to only need brake pads and maybe a new set of Rotors. What a BLESSING!
Hoopty, we are so grateful for you, and hope you know we have high hopes for you. When it comes to putting you or your partner "the Pilot" in the garage you are always our first choice... Now we are not saying you are better than the Pilot, but you have a habit of getting stolen and vandalized... We will continue to take great care of you... but you must agree to do the same!
In closing, you are the best car we have ever had! Thanks much, and we look forward to driving you another 180,000 miles!
Sincerely,
Your Owners.

SUPER DUPER!

Time for a confession.... I have been throwing money away EVERY MONTH! Literally, just chucking it into the recycle bin. Even with the economic times as they are, I still do this? How you ask? COUPONS! I used to just chuck 'em. Junk mail to me... But now.....
I have been REFORMED!
I promise from this day forward, I will no longer throw them in that nice blue bin outside. I promise to look through them. I promise I will cut out those coupons for the items we use in our home. It may not seem like a lot of cash... but every little bit HELPS! *Especially when your car is up for licensing, your tires are bald, your hubby's car is acting up after 8 1/2 years of no incident....*
I also want to give a shout out to my new BFF.... no it isn't a person, it is a website... it is http://www.myfoodstoragedeals.com/. Now it does cost $5 per month... but it saves me lots....
Here are my purchases for today...

Here is the itemization:
3 Gallons of milk
3 lbs. Sunkist Oranges
2 Lbs Bananas
4 lbs of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
4 boxes Oatmeal

5 boxes Pasta Roni

My Sweet Four Year Old....

JS is one of the sweetest little boys ever! I just love the kid, and not just because he is my son. He truly is such a sweet little spirit. He loves to give hugs, and more than anything he loves to please and make people happy. If I am having a hard day, he is picks up on it, and gives me loves, or goes and grabs a Coke out of the cabinet for me... (Smart Boy!)
I have been so proud of him this week! He is making amazing progress. He is truly growing up. Yesterday, he brought home his project from his Developmental Preschool. He is so proud of his little snowmen. He even took this picture of it!

I bought a puzzle for him this week. He showed some interest while I was getting my hair done, and I figured this would be a good way to challenge him. I thought he would struggle a bit, given the challenges he faces. But you know what??? I was SO WRONG! Happily WRONG! He did the puzzle all by himself! He struggled with one piece out of 24! I am so proud of this kid! He really works hard! Gosh, I love my boys!

I'm GROOMED!

After five months I FINALLY got my hair done... Yes it has really been that long! I was so fed up with the hair in a pony tail everyday, that I decided to cut it, SHORT! This is about as short as I have ever cut it, and I love it! I decided against the A-line since I have had that hairdo for the past year, now it is just a nice blunt BOB! I love love LOVE IT! It is super dark, and I am still shocked when I look in the mirror, but I love it!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great New Years. We certainly did! It was lots of fun. We kept it kind of quiet at our house, we had our close friends the B family out for supper and games. Turtle and I purchased RockBand as a family Christmas gift! We are so ADDICTED!
We had some wonderful food! The B Family brought out some Halibut, we fried that up, then we had scones, fondue and veggies and dip. It was SO YUMMY! I think the munchkins liked it too! JS and JA loved having the B's over... JA would keep running up to Momma B and tickle her etc. It was way cute! We are lucky to have such good friends... here are some pics!
