You busy???

Things have been a little crazy around here... okay not a little, REALLY Crazy! On Saturday, I threw a shower for a good friend of mine who is having her first baby girl! It was so much fun! Seeing all the little baby stuff really made me... well you know, BABY HUNGRY!!! I know I swore I didn't want anymore little ones after I had little Joker, but I am thinking I just might change my mind! I think back to how much fun it was to be pregnant. I loved it. I know, I am weird, but I really loved being pregnant! I just loved the miracle of pregnancy. Feeling the baby move, getting to know the baby before they were actually here. Whether or not we have another one is still in the air... but who knows???
Jaker and Joker are having so much fun! They love the snow! Magellan does too! I can't keep them out of it! Jaker was trying to ride his bike in it this afternoon... I think he was a little perplexed when he got stuck! We are spending a quiet few days at home while Turtle's car is on the fritz... I hope I survive. I get a little stir-crazy! Bear with me if I call you to just chat... I get a little bored at home!

Kite Flying Weather!

Yesterday we were at the Smith's Marketplace when lo and behold, Jaker found the kite of his dreams!!!! Was it Lightning Mcqueen??? Nope (Gramma and Grampa have that one) was it Spiderman??? Nope! Try again! (Gramma and Grampa have that one too!) The next best one was BUMBLEBEE! you know from Transformers? (I don't really like the show, but Turtle and the kids do!) Ever since we got back from our getaway Jaker has been dreaming of a kite at his own house! So I decided to sacrifice the three bucks and get him one. Holy cow! That is the best three bucks I've spent in a long time! That kite kept Jaker and the Jokester occupied for about two hours!!! I tried to explain to Jaker that we needed wind, and it didn't feel real windy outside... but he insisted! He said his Grampa flew a kite with no wind! So I had a challenge....(Thanks for being so amazing DAD!)
So after a few minutes... I DID IT!!! You should have seen the look in the kids eyes! Absolute DELIGHT! It was like a MAGIC TRICK or even BETTER!!! Bumblebee soared up way high! Super high into the sky! It was so fun to watch the boys faces! EUPHORIA overcame them, and I am not exaggerating! They were cheering on little Bumblebee telling him to fly higher and Higher! Jaker did mention to Bumblebee... "Please don't fly away!" But the height was cool!
Unfortunately Bumblebees flight was cut short... turns out they do need wind!!!
So after the kite flying we took a quick ride around the block!

Up, Up and AWAY!

Tell me this kid doesn't look like DADDY!

Ramblings...

It's been a tough week back on the job of being a mommy. Was it because I was so spoiled over the weekend? Who knows! I really struggle being away from the boys for more than 24 hours, but then I get back to them, and they drive me batty! What is up with all the fighting? Seriously!!! They fight non stop! They fight over cars, bikes, wagons, happy meal toys, root beer, who sits where... all day long!!!! Should I tune them out? How do you keep yourself sane???
Last week, I went to my little Jaker's SEP. I have to say I left there a bit irritated. Yeah, thats right irritated! I get so frustrated hearing teachers say, "Oh he can't do this. He doesn't know this. etc." But when I ask him... he tells me the right answer. For instance they told me Jaker can't identify his mouth, back or chest. Really? Are you sure about that? So I asked him... just to be sure I am not on a soapbox or something... and sure enough he knew what I was talking about. Then they say Jaker doesn't know how to write the fundamental shapes for writing such as - O /l. Once again, I am thinking really??? The kid can write his name, which might I add requires all of those shapes. Is it perfect handwriting???, no, but the kid is only FOUR! And his handwriting is legible.
Turtle and I talked about this. Both of us entered into kindergarten not knowing how to write our names. I asked my sweet mommy to be sure, and she said... nope you didn't. But here's the thing.. IT WASN'T THAT BIG OF A DEAL! My parent's didn't stress, and I am pretty sure Turtle's parents didn't either because that was normal. It seems like now, they have discovered that some kids are able to write their names by kindergarten and now all of the sudden that is the new requirement/expectation! I am not saying this is a bad thing... but I can't believe all the pressure that is on five year olds. We went to school to learn to read and write when I was Jaker's age... now they expect reading and writing before entrance... (Okay so I am exaggerating) but that is the feeling I get.
I look at Turtle and I... We aren't brilliant people, nor are we genius. But we are normal, and we went to school without all of these expectations... why stress a five year old so much???
There, got that off my chest!

A Weekend Off!

This weekend for our anniversary, Turtle and I decided to take off! We left the kids with my parents and Turtle's parents and off we went for some fun! Holy cow! It is amazing how relaxing life can be without the children!

First stop, our favorite restaurant ever:

We absolutely LOVE this place! Great food... lots of food, and for a decent price! Can't be beat! Oh, and Killer rolls! Love the rolls! We had such a good lunch, we really didn't need dinner. We were SO FULL!
After lunch, it was of to...

Anyone who knows Turtle, knows this is his ultimate favorite store. It's like heaven to him! We hung out in REI for 2 hours!!! It was so much fun! It was just like the good ol' days, when we could spend that much time in there because we didn't have little ones tearing the place up! So much fun! In the end, Turtle got some super cool gear, for his birthday (that's coming up you know)...
Then we were off to our final destination...

We had the opportunity to stay in my parent's timeshare and it was SO NICE! So RELAXING and SO BEAUTIFUL! Oh my did we love it up there! We hung out up there watched movies and then on Saturday it was of to....

HOLY COW! We had SO MUCH FUN!!!! Turtle gave me a quick ski lesson and then we were off! We had such a great time! The sun was shining! The skies were blue, no wind... it was GREAT! I loved every minute of it! I even skiied intermediate runs (ok only four times but still!!) and I loved it! It was the best I have ever felt on a pair of skis! Turtle did the dangerous stuff (does that surprise you???) for a bit and then we met up and went back to the condo! We were both so exhausted... we relaxed while watching Tommy Boy! It's a CLASSIC!
By Saturday night, I so desperately missed my boys! I called Gramma Sue, and unfortunately Joe had a yucky tummy and had been throwing up the night before... I so wanted to be there for my sweet boy, but I knew he was in great hands! I really missed my boys. WE had lots of fun without them, and it gave us a great opportunity to build on our relationship! At the same time, it made me realize how much I love my little dudes! Turtle and I are so blessed to have them in our lives! Even when they are handfuls, and they fight, and scream and squawk, and terrorize "Gellan" they are the best thing that ever happened to us!
Thank you to my parents and Turtle's parents for entertaining, taking care of, loving, and cleaning up after our boys! We sure missed them, but we had lots of fun! Thanks for your help!!!

9 years... Are you serious???

Nine years ago today, I married my ultimate best friend and true love! How amazing the last nine years have been. Sure there have been ups, downs and all arounds... but overall the last nine years have been filled with lots of fun, love, and acheivement. I am so grateful to my sweet hubby... sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky! I love the man what can I say! I was going to get some photos scanned in of our last nine years, but just haven't gotten to it yet... Justin has changed a bit!!!

Top 2 Pains in the Toosh....

And the Award goes to.....
.....Drum Roll Please.....
Verizon Wireless and Layers Clothing....
Congratulations! You two companies have officially made the most undesirable companies in my books!
These two companies have worked very hard to drive me to drink! From extremely terrible customer service to lack of common courtesy, these companies do it all! Wow!
Lets go to the accomplishments of Verizon Wireless.... In December, we purchased Turtle a Blackberry Storm (lucky guy, I know!) He received it on Christmas Morning, and fell in love with it! Unfortunately the phone was defective, and didn't work after a week. Turtle called, talked to tech support and they told him that they would send a new phone out to us, and we needed to send the defective one in.
When they sent out a new phone, they also charged the account for the phone in the amount of $276.00. At the time they sent it out the told us as soon as they received the defective phone, the amount would be credited back to the account! Turtle, being ever so on top of things, sent the defective phone back the next day... He used the box they sent to us, followed every direction given (He is an engineer you know!) and received confirmation that they phone was received in the warehouse on January 12.
Here it is March 3rd, we are still being billed for this new phone... I have been on the phone with Verizon Wireless for over three hours over the course of three days trying to get this situation resolved. I have called, provided tracking numbers, been polite (that's a toughie for me!) and I have gotten NOWHERE! I am in the same boat after three hours of talking with this worthless company as I was two months ago. Now the account is considered DELINQUENT!
Moral of the story... Avoid VERIZON WIRELESS LIKE THE PLAGUE!
As for Layers clothing, they aren't nearly as bad as Verizon... but they did terminate my contract to sell their stuff.... Unfortunately they didn't tell me until a month later...and they won't reimburse me my deposit... Yeah... not my favorite company either!
