Slacker Mommy!

This week was a fun one. Busy yes, but fun too! It is amazing to me how fast the weeks fly by now that I am a stay home mom. I honestly thought I would be bored being the Mommy. Not the banker, the the Client Relations Manager, just the Mommy. What I am realizing now is this, I am not just a mommy. I am a secretary, accountant, baby sitter, nurse, therapist, teacher, house keeper, problem solver, motivator, dog trainer, disciplinary, friend, caretaker, chef, dishwasher, chauffer, litigator, and the list continues.
Monday the started out great! It was Jake's first day back to his developmental preschool. He had so much fun! He enjoys going to school so much! Wow does that give me a sense of relief. I don't ever have to fight with him to go to school, or to get ready, he does it himself, and he is happy about it. (He definitely did not get this from me!) After dev. school, it was off to Little Learners... holy crap I love that school! But boy did I spend a lot of time in the Car. Running errands, grocery shopping, fabric shopping etc. etc. it gets busy!
Tuesday wasn't too much of a day, we hung out, played games, puzzles and Jake worked on his worksheets I print off the internet to get him to practice his handwriting. He is getting better and better at it! Dude he is a cool kid!
I didn't start really being the "Slacker Mommy" til about Wednesday. Jake had a field trip with Little Learners Academy. My friend Kristi and I debated whether or not we go to the field trip, or be bad mommys and take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese instead. It was a tough decision... but we of course chose Chuck E. Cheese! That place was heaven for the kids! I loved seeing their faces light up! My kids loved the creatures that sing on stage! Jake was singing and dancing along....(that he got from me!) Joe was just having a ball running like a chicken with its head cut off! We had pizza for lunch, and the kids played games like they were going out of style! I think the favorite for Joey was Skee Ball (mine too :) ) Jakes was riding the motorcycle game! It was a fun time once we got there... the drive there was a different story. Has anyone ever noticed when you try to take your kids to do something "fun" you fight with them nearly the entire way... by the time you get to your destination, you are so ready to go take a nap, or at least go home to peace and quiet. (Do I have that in this house??? yeah, NO!) Anyway, we were glad we went, even if the travel there was HELL!
Thursday I learned lots of cool stuff from my super good friend Kristan! She taught me how to make Honey butter! Seriously this stuff is so dang good! Kristan makes a jar for me every Christmas, and I kid you not it is so good it is gone in a month! This year, Jake discovered it in the fridge and decided to eat it by the spoonful... Nasty I know, but it tastes that good! If any of ya'll want some... come on over! I have plenty!
We have had lots of fun this week... I just gave you a quick glimpse! Sorry no pics!

Please Pray for this little Girl!

I don't know this family, and they don't know me. But their story is one that tugs at my heart strings. I started following their blog by following my friend Brynn's Blog! This family truly shows me how blessed I am. How truly small my trials are in comparison. This family is a true example of faith to me... I am grateful to have been able to follow their story...

My Newest Creation...

I went to Hancock Fabrics lastnight. (BAD IDEA!!!) They were having a super good sale (At least I saved some money right?). Anyway, I finally decided to get a pattern to make a handbag. There were so many adorable fabrics there that were on sale, and I just couldn't pick one combination... so I picked enough fabric to make two! I finished my first bag last night! It is so dang cute! Here is a picture or two.... This is my first one, so I am sure I will get better at it!

I had to throw in a picture of Jake and his buddy Ethan. These two go to Preschool together, and they love to play together too! The minute they see eachother, it is constant laughing! They just look at eachother, and Laugh! It's pretty funny!

Good times...

We at the big N house are having great times this week! JS absolutely loved Valentine's Day! LOVED IT! He signed each and everyone of his Valentine's for his preschool class. He is getting pretty good at it! He loved having candy (that's a given!) and sharing with his brother.
I signed him up for Kindergarten last week. I have to admit, I cried. I can't believe he is already old enough! What happened to my baby??? He is so big now! He is maturing so much! He loves preschool and his friends, I am sure he will love Kindergarten too! I am super excited for him! I think he will do great!
JA is being a 2 year old! He is into everything. He talks so much, I can't believe some of the things he comes up with! We took him for his pics at JCPenney last weekend, and when asked to smile, he looked at the photographer with his usual grumpy face and said "NO WAY!!!!" Man I love that kid! Lots of his pictures he looks grumpy, but that's my boy! I can't wait to get them back!
Turtle and I are enjoying the boys and our families! We love them and are so grateful! We are truly BLESSED!

The Celebration!

We had so much fun on Sunday night! We had most of our family over for supper, cake, ice cream, and of course the kids favorite CUPCAKES!!! It was so nice to sit and visit with everyone! JA loved the attention he was getting! He received so many nice gifts from our family! I am so amazed! There is so much generosity! We are so grateful for the love our family has for us and our munchkins!
JA received essentially a whole new wardrobe to finish out the winter, through the spring and next fall! Then he received a bike from us, lots of fun GeoTrax Train stuff, a Thomas the Train Sticker Book (That no one can even look at without the wrath of JA) as well as blocks, and so MUCH MORE!!!! We are so blessed!
Here are some pics! There aren't many due to the chaos of the evening, but boy did we have fun!

Happy Birthday Little Dude!

I can't believe it! My baby is TWO! Can you? Holy crap the time has flown right by me! He is such a blessing to me and my family! He definitely has a bit of spunk to him, I secretly think he got that from me! He loves Thomas the Train, Lightning Mcqueen, and pretty much anything with wheels on it! His favorite foods are cheese, graham crackers (especially the cinnamon and sugar kind), French Fries, Chicken Nuggets (must be McDonalds ***YUCK!***), and a swig or two of mom's diet coke.
He talks quite a bit. He loves to say things like,
"I Stinky"
"I Funny"
"Mo Milk"
"Need that"
"Thank you Mom"
"Thank you Dad"
and "Love you"
He idolizes his big brother, and I love that they have a close friendship. They love to play, and fight (unfortunately). He is a momma's boy through and through!
I am so grateful for my baby boy! What a blessing he is! He is so much fun, and keeps us laughing! I love little dude!

Hugs.

Can I just say (well of course I can it's my blog Duh!) My kids give the best hugs in the whole world! Seriously... you should try them out. They aren't the wimpy lean in hugs, they are full fledged, embrace, little squeeze, "I sincerely mean it" hugs. JS gives the most. When I strap him in his car seat (I do that alot! something about stir crazy in a messy house) he ALWAYS gives me a hug and says "Luv ya mom." JA not so much... but he does say thank you! I pretty much have to bribe the little monster to give me hugs with things like sips of my Coke ( I am totally going to hell for this), chips, his blankie, his milk, or the occasional threat of tickling to the point of absolute uncontrollable laughter. But when JA does give hugs... oh my goodness... it's worth all the bribing!
I think this is why God put these little humans in our families. They teach us how to hug. They teach us how to hug, and to be sincere about it. They don't know how to use sarcasm (although I get the feeling my kids are going to be learning that aspect of life pretty dang quick!). They say what they think, and they mean what the say. How often in life do we curb our tongue. How often do we not express our opinions for fear of being looked at as being judgemental, or completely off our rocker. I love the fact that my kids are brutally honest. Most of the kids in my life are, and I love it! I look up to my little dudes... They seriously kick major toosh. They don't have any qualms with telling people they love 'em, blowing kisses (JA is the little Charmer) or saying that they didn't like something I, or anyone said or did! (JS you rock at this!)
At the same time these little monsters are quick to forgive. They don't hold a grudge. I could really follow this example. (key word, could but not usually.) If I did, I know I would be a better person!

So here's my idea... I think we should all immature a bit (or is it mature) and act as our children do.... Don't ya think the world would be a better place? I know it says something about this in the scriptures, but I am not that spiritual to know where it is quoted!
Have a good day all, and enjoy this pic!
Honestly, I love the cheesy pic! He is trying to fake smile... Didn't work.
